“Celebrating Strong Women” March 18, 2023,
the AAUW Metro IBC Annual Luncheon and Fundraiser
On an unusually cool Spring Day, members and guests from all 5 local branches gathered at the elegant EdgeWild banquet center to honor our members’ achievements and raise funds for NCCWSL and other worthy projects. A fine luncheon was enjoyed by all, and our speaker, Nicole Evelina, (USA Today bestselling celebrated author) shared her love of history and teminded all why it is important to keep re-telling strong women’s stories. In that vein, she gave highlights of St. Louis suffragists Virginia and Francis Minor, who are featured in her latest book.
The 2023 IBC Spring Luncheon Committee members are: Jan Horner, Ellen Irons, Kay Meyer, Pam Meyers, Pat Shores, Rose Ann Weeks, Carol Davis McDonald, Joyce Katz, Deb McWard. The event is a cooperative venture by all the branches. It is the sole fundraiser for IBC, which offers NCCWSL scholarships as well as serving local branches in promoting AAUW goals.
